We believe underground producers and labels deserve special recognition!
This week’s feature is dedicated to Ukrainian techno pioneer Stanislav Tolkachev.
His productions are influenced both by the classic sound of Detroit and the sleek minimalistic tendencies born in Berlin. He is focused on experimentation with textures and psychedelic sounds, taking inspiration from many diverse sources.
Influenced both by the classic sound of Detroit and the minimalist style born in Berlin, his music is an ultimate artistic output of continuous exploration and experimentation with psychedelic as well as atonal textures and sounds – tough, twisted yet dazzling.
His live and DJ sets bridges the gap between shape-shifting experimentalism, sunken abstraction and clever mixtures of gridlocked rhythms, verbed-out melodies and faux-organic envelopes.
Through his music Tolkachev ultimately demonstrates the unlimited breadth and scope of his talent for sculpting pared-down techno statements that transcend both space and time, mood and atmosphere, trends and patterns.
Tolkachev’s music has been released on many labels, including M_Rec, Semantica, MORD and Geophone.
