A rave is a large dance party featuring performances by DJs and occasionally live performers playing electronic music. The word “rave” was first used in the late 1980s to describe the subculture that grew out of the acid house and techno movement.

When the word “rave” is said, most people think of drugs. This is not true. Some people use it, and for those who don’t do drugs it is insulting.
Think of why you are going to a rave
