Technics have let us know, that the new turntables SL-1200 will cost about $4000 and we were wondering, why.
We got an answer from digitaldjtips.com that states that the new Technics turntables will have a few innovations, and we are not sure if the followers of classic DJíng approach will be happy about them. For instance, SL-1200 will be provided with a SYNC button, which we are familiar with from the Pioneer CDJ-2000Nexus.
Two turntables will be connected with a regular mini-jack cable and will work with all vinyl types. A built-in chip will analyze the pic moments in a track and send the information to the second turntable. Somewhat relative to Traktor DJ and Serato, but without additional hardware or software needed.
From one point of view, that will ease the job for many DJs in a lot of cases, but from another point of view, that is another step to killing the true DJ’ing. From that point, people will be able to put vinyl records and pressing SYNC to get the job done. Let’s wait for the Mixer that will fade the frequencies in and out by itself, and that’s it, we’re done. Robots win over the universe.
