The Pets Recordings label owners – Catz N Dogz, run a vinyl-only imprint called Step.
“We’re up for experiments” say Voitek and Greg. Pets recordings is the label which has a stable place in charts with releases by Eats Everything, Kim Ann Foxman and KINK to name a few.
Step is the vinyl-only label from Catz N Dogs, which features deep and sensual techno and house. The name is explained easily – STEP is PETS spelled backwards and makes sense from the musical point of view too. Since Pets has it’s style and is recognisable, the idea to open another imprint was natural for the duo who didn’t want to mix up the vibes.
Step is backwards and it’s not the same as Pets.
The releases are coming every four months on vinyl only and they are more analog, industrial, deep and raw than what we are used to hear from Pets. The graphic design for Step was created by the same people who worked with Pets, but the covers and labels are a lot more minimalistic.
