At the end of each year Resident Advisor asks their readers to choose their favorite DJs and live acts considering their experience in live venues and clubs. Voting is restricted to people who were RA members before the polls opened. The voting ends on Saturday 26th November at 8 AM (GMT).
Can Dixon stay on the throne the fourth year in a row or is it someone else’s turn this year? Considering his insane devotion to DJing, constant gigs, his unmistakable sound and the exquisite parties he throws at unique locations with his Innervisions crew there’s quite a possibility he will remain number 1. However, 2016 was packed with an insane number of innovative and interesting festivals ( https://www.technostation.tv/top-10-techno-festivals-2016/ ) and outstanding events all over the world, giving the chance to a lot of DJs to shine.
The extremely dedicated Maceo Plex, and the dark duo – Tale of Us stood alongside Dixon, taking the second and the third place in 2015. Ben UFO, Jackmaster, Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler, Âme (Kristian Beyer) and Rødhåd also made it to the top 10. 2016 was a great year for Adam Beyer, Solomun, Nina Kraviz, Mind Against,Richie Hawtin and even Job Jobse – let’s see if they can make it to top 10 this year.
The enthusiastic and talented KiNK won the best live act title in 2015, followed by Recondite, Âme (Frank Wiedemann), David August, Karenn, Mathew Jonson, Henrik Schwarz, Surgeon, Octave One and Guti.
Recondite has had an outstanding 2016 winning over the crowd all over the world so it wouldn’t be very surprising if he won the best live act this year. However, a lot of interesting and hardworking producers such as Stephan Bodzin, Fatima Yamaha or Bob Moses really shined this year as well, so it looks like we’ll just have to wait for the RA poll results and see.
