Porta Estel·lar is the Catalan for Star Gate.
The installation created inside the body of an old plane is a unique experience, where the authors invite the visitors to embark on a cosmic journey.
Porta Estel·lar was created in 2015 boy the joint forces of creative people. The plain belongs to Eduardo Cajal, who bought and remodeled it to suit this kind of installations.
The light and sound show is created by PlayMID.
The audience is taken on an intense and captivating trip. In six minutes, they fly through space – takeoff, comets flying, passing planets, crossing nebulae, visiting alien worlds and then, landing. It reminds a bit of a childhood amusement park experience, where you had a small trip in front of a screen, where you saw 2D images of space, while sitting in a moving chair.
But this one is a lot more advance and is a true fairy tale. Or fantasy if you like.
