Police have issued warnings about ‘yellow octopus’ ecstasy pills considered dangerous.
Officers have warned licensed businesses in Cardiff that the yellow ecstasy tablets are being circulated around the South Wales Police force area.
The warning says the pills can cause “serious health issues” and urged staff at Cardiff venues to contact them if they come across any.
The police message says: “Staff are asked to call 101 if they seize or come across any ecstasy ‘yellow octopus’ tablets which are circulating in the South Wales force area at the moment.
“They can cause serious health issues and any information about the tablets is requested.”
A drugs helpline has warned about the risks of ecstasy, which can cause sweating, nausea, dehydration, confusion and anxiety, and long-term issues such as psychological disturbance, depression, liver and kidney damage.
