Russian techno star Nina Kraviz shared that she feels techno is “underestimated” as a genre in her latest interview with The Guardian.
Nina is one of the most loved names in the genre. Present on the scene since 2008, she is pushing the boundaries of techno through her trip label since it launched in 2014.
“When I DJ, I’m fucking alive. All my channels are open. People think I’m on drugs, but I’m not – I’m just really experiencing it”, Nina said.
Nina became techno’s most divisive figure, and speaking of techno she said: “It’s a phenomenon, it’s as important as jazz. It’s incredibly rich, culturally, but it’s so underground that it took me 15 years to have even a little bit of a frame of reference. There are still areas that I don’t know about.”
