This 1997 movie tells a story of a man, who takes the identity of his brother to achieve a dream of space travel.
The short sentence is simple, the idea is clear, but the movie explores a deep and important philosophical question of all times – “Is there a place for eugenics?”
The family the two brothers are born to live in the future, where people can design their children. Vincent was conceived without the use of genetic design and was born with a list of possible diseases and probable lifespan of 30 years. His brother, in contrast, is born after a careful selective invasion. Vincent and Anton have been friends since childhood and competed as all brothers do.
There is a twist to the plot, a love line with Uma Thurman playing the woman, and a lot to think of.
The scenery is architecturally breathtaking and the actors are perfect. Because it’s eugenics…
