(MS) label boss Myles Sergé has put together a new remix package for the recently released track “Shoplifter,” and his back catalogue includes appearances on labels like Zenker Brothers’ Ilian Tape, Dan Curtin’s Metamorphic, Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains, and Esther Duijn’s Another Earth, to name only a few. The original “Shoplifter” is a stripped-back and jackin’ cut with a tool-like style and immersive, hypnotic style that’s totally club ready.
Dustin Zahn is a Berlin-based artist from America who not only runs Enemy Records, but has released on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, James Ruskin’s Blueprint, Radio Slave’s Rekids, and Kr!z’s Token. His ‘is Guilty Remix’ adds a warm and bubbling bassline to a spacious, delicate soundscape and satisfying, heads down groove.
Chicago’s Lester Fitzpatrick is an veteran producer who has had tracks featured on Music Man, Green Velvet’s Relief, Damon Wild’s Syenwave, A.Paul’s Naked Lunch, to name only a few. His remix takes things down a tougher approach, where driving percussion meets abstract effects and haunting textures for a ferocious trip.
Chicago Skyway also has roots in Illinois, and his music has been released on labels like Aroy Dee’s M>O>S Recordings to Eargasmic, also listing gigs at the renowned Freerotation Festival in Wales.Chicago Skyway’s ‘Narced Remix’ throws in a classic sounding, stomping rhythm which means business, and tweaks the lead tone for maximum floor effect.
Nuntius Noctis is from Grand Rapids, and makes his debut release on any label by contributing to this collection, and who has plans for more new material due in 2025. His remix adds some breakbeat drum patterns amongst some interesting vocal samples, and the huge, grinding bassline spins the original into an entirely new realm.
Anders Ilar and John H are two well established Swedish producers who combine once again following their contributions to Drvg Culture’s New York Haunted, Esther Duijn’s Another Earth, Kenneth Christiansen’s Echocord, and Shitkatapult. The duo hit the machines to form a bouncing, rubbery 303 line that expands into a colossal and infectious acid journey.
Rouding off the remixes, Berlin’s Black Mirror Park is a member of Sonntagsinstitut Collective, and lists works on Robert Hoff’s trau-ma, dotwav’s KONFLKT, Planet Rhythm, and DifferentSound. His remix closes out the release with a twisted and hypnotic rework that uses suspense and dubby tones to a create a contemporary piece with depth and soul intertwined to perfection.
