Three remixes of New Order’s latest track, “Be A Rebel,” are out now.
The remix set, out today, features Maceo Plex, Paul Woolford and New Order’s own Bernard Sumner remixing “Be A Rebel.” That single, released in November, was New Order’s first new music in five years, as RA reports.
“As someone from the north of England, shaped and schooled by the legacy of Factory Records and acid house, New Order cast an indelible shadow,” says Woolford on the project. “Their influence over youth culture is immeasurable for obvious reasons. Accordingly, I feel like I’ve been in training to work with them most of my life.”
New Order recently released the definitive collection of their seminal 1983 album Power, Corruption & Lies, which came with a vinyl LP, two CDs, two DVDs and a book. The band has announced a homecoming show in Manchester on September 10th, 2021, after which they’ll tour the US with the Pet Shop Boys. For full dates, check out the New Order site.
