Right before the festival season kicks off, we were able to get a hold of the duo for a short interview about their latest EP ‘Don’t Loose Control’ on Terminal M, And their coming gigs for the summer.
What does the title of the EP Don’t lose Control’ refers to?
In fact, we called this EP “Don’t Loose Control” with 2 o’s and not Lose as it’s normally spelt for some reasons! The little son of a good friend of us really loved that track and so he did a draw and wrote “Don’t Loose Control” as the title of this draw. So we kept this as it was 🙂 But globally we named this track like this because we did that in the very first Covid lockdown in France which was a really though period and so named this track like this because it was important for us to keep the focus and not lose control.
What inspired you in the process of producing each of the tracks on this EP ?
For this EP we targeted really 3 different distinct universes. We tried to express all emotions we were passing by during that period which was very different according to the days. It was kind of total improvisation.
What kind of ambiance you were aiming to achieve in this release?
For “Don’t Loose Control” we tried to do something for the clubs, something pumping with this vocal that was bringing this hypnotic touch!
For “Fire” it’s a more straight techno track, with clear synths that is changing all through the track and a girl hypnotic vocal that brings the track hot like the fire!
For “Arkenstone” we looked at something more deep & acid.
What were your working tools and some of the techniques you used in the studio when producing the tracks?
In general we are using same synths, SERUM, DIVA or PIGMENTS that we work with for a very long time and think that we can exploit at their best. We don’t use much machines because we prefer to use less that we know instead that a lot that we know only a few.
What is coming next under your sleeve and being cooked in the studio?
We just had this release on Terminal M that we are pretty proud about but next up is a track called “Carbon” that will be released on our label Scander. Something a bit more Minimal that the previous techno track we made. But the next (very!) big one is a collab with T78 that will be released in September on our label Legend with a bunch of very strong remixers. We can’t wait to spread the word about this one, but you will hear it all summer long we guess 😉
What are your touring plans for the upcoming summer season?
This summer looks so good, after the last 2 years we are so happy to be back on tour!
We will play all across Europe, Germany, Hungary, Albania, Serbia, Bulgaria etc… we’ll pass also quite by Middle East with some shows in Turkey, Dubai, Bahrain and return to Canada also in August! Of course, France is also part of the plans as we have couple of festivals planned but also our own Legend open air, happening in our hometown with Umek & Matt Sassari!
Any particular venue or festival that you are really looking forward to play at in the coming months? and why?
A couple yes, like for example our first performance for legendary NATURE ONE in Germany. When we were young we were really hoping one day to play there. Also the show in Canada will be at Niagara Falls, so pretty excited to discover this unique place as we are both passionate by nature… and of course our own event Legend in august because it’s always a special feeling to play in our hometown with all our friends & family!
