The past few months have been a whirlwind for Chus & Ceballos. Following the launch of their Reunion Tour, the Spanish duo have travelled to more than 50 cities across North America and Europe, reconnecting with audiences who’ve packed out clubs and festivals to welcome them back. The response has been overwhelming, proving that their unmistakable blend of tribal percussion, hypnotic grooves and Latin-inspired rhythms continues to resonate with dance floors around the world.

Now, they’re turning that energy into new music. Released on their own Stereo Productions, Somos Uno is the first original single of this new chapter, a record that captures the essence of the Iberican Sound while pushing it into fresh territory. Built around rolling percussion, cinematic textures and a powerful message of unity, it’s a track that feels equally at home in the club and beyond it, reflecting the philosophy that has guided Chus & Ceballos throughout their career: that music has the power to bring people together.

We caught up with the duo to talk about the inspiration behind Somos Uno, the reaction it’s been getting on dance floors around the world, the creative process behind the record, and why they believe the best is still to come.

Hey guys! It’s great to have you with us, and even better that you’re releasing music together again! How has this year been for you?

C&C: It’s been an incredible ride. The response to the Reunion Tour has honestly exceeded all our expectations. Everywhere we’ve played, people have welcomed us with open arms, and it’s been an emotional experience from day one. We kicked things off on January 1st at our home away from home, Stereo Montreal, with two consecutive sold-out shows, playing 16- and 15-hour marathon sets. It was the perfect way to begin this new chapter. After six intense months on the road, we’ve finally been able to spend time back in the studio, and we’re excited that our first release on Stereo Productions is “Somos Uno.”

You’ve spent months testing “Somos Uno” in clubs all over the world. What has surprised you most about the audience response?

C&C: What surprised us most is how instantly people connected with it. It reminded us that there was a real desire to hear that unmistakable Chus & Ceballos energy again. The groove, the percussion, the arrangement, the tension and release everything about the track reflects the DNA of what people know as the Iberican Sound. You can literally see the recognition on the dance floor from the first few bars. And then the vocal arrives… that’s a truly special moment. Hearing every Latin American country mentioned creates an emotional connection that goes far beyond the music. Hands go up immediately, people sing along, and for a few minutes the dance floor genuinely feels united.

Every record has a moment when it comes alive. What’s your favorite moment in a DJ set to play Somos Uno?

C&C: We always try to create memorable moments during our sets, and that’s one of the things we love most about performing together. “Somos Uno” is one of those records we use when we want to lift the energy of the room and create a genuine emotional peak. There’s a moment when everything clicks: the groove, the vocal, the crowd’s reaction, and you can literally feel the atmosphere change. Those are the moments we live for.

Electronic music is constantly searching for the next trend, but some records seem to exist outside of that cycle. Was creating something timeless part of the vision for this release?

C&C: Absolutely. We feel that electronic music is going through a period where too many productions follow the same formulas, chasing whatever happens to be trending at the moment. When we started our careers, there was a much clearer distinction between underground club music and commercial music, and artists were encouraged to develop their own identity. Today it’s much easier to fall into repetition. We know you can’t ignore what’s happening around you. Still, our goal has always been to contribute something original: music built on proven dance floor ingredients, but expressed through our own musical language. That’s how timeless records are made.

When you finish a track, who do you hope to impress first: yourselves, the dance floor, or your fellow DJs?

C&C: Ourselves, without question. If we don’t genuinely love the record, it doesn’t leave the studio. After that comes the dance floor, because that’s where our music truly comes to life. If other DJs connect with it and decide to play it, that’s fantastic, but it’s never the main objective. Our priority has always been making music that excites us and creates unforgettable moments for the people in front of us.

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Chus & Ceballos right now. Has the excitement surrounding the Reunion Tour changed your ambitions for the future?

C&C: Without a doubt. The Reunion Tour reminded us how special this partnership is not only for us, but also for the people who’ve followed us over the years. The response has been overwhelming everywhere we’ve played, and that has given us even more motivation to keep building. “Somos Uno” is only the beginning. We already have several new productions ready, and we’re looking forward to returning to a consistent release schedule while continuing to take this energy around the world.

If another producer were to remix Somos Uno, who would you trust to take it to a completely unexpected place?

C&C: That’s a great question. We’d probably choose JATS. He’s a talented French producer we’ve recently discovered, and we were so impressed by his sound that we are releasing his latest single, “Power,” on Stereo Productions. He has a unique approach to music, very unique, so we’d love to hear his interpretation. We’re sure he’d take the track somewhere completely different while still respecting its identity.

You’ve always been known for your marathon sets that transport dancers to another world. Do you approach record making differently now that you think about how they fit into those longer musical narratives?

C&C: Definitely. We always produce with our DJ sets in mind because, first and foremost, we make music we want to play ourselves. Those extended marathon sets—especially at Stereo Montreal—are where we really understand what works emotionally over a long musical journey. They allow us to test dynamics, tension, storytelling, and energy in a way that shorter performances simply can’t. In fact, our next single, ‘Closer to You ’, a collab with Tony Rios, is coming this October, and was specifically produced with that room in mind.

This single opens a new chapter. Without giving too much away, what can Chus & Ceballos fans expect in the coming year?

C&C: We want to call it the rebirth of the Iberican Sound, or version 3.0. But above all, we want people to still recognize our music at first listen. We’re back to stay and to give people what they demand every day: Dancing back to the dance floors!
