After an 18 month hiatus, the influential Ismus label makes a welcome return, now under the umbrella of Charlotte de Witte’s KNTXT. It restarts with a fantastically fresh new various artists release that catapults it right back to the techno vanguard with the likes of VOST, AK SPORTS, Cadence, Krl Mx, KTRSX, SZG and more, all offering up 10 thrilling blends of rave, hard techno and trance.
This new chapter will see all new Ismus releases and it follows a standout event at ADE in October when KNTXT Turbo Club invited Ismus for an exclusive day party with sets from Charlotte de Witte, Acid Asian, AK SPORTS, Krl Mx and Marion Di Napoli.
Ismus is well known to underground heads having become a cult Berlin party that hosted plenty of popular events with a fresh blend of hard techno, rave, dance and trance. The same sounds were always championed by the label and that’s the case again now with this bumper new collection.
Krl Mx opens up with the high energy and slamming All Is Dead Inside, VOST – Across The Room is a speedy cut with tight, clipped drums and pent up funk. KTRSX – Tipasa brings a dark and twisted techno forcefield to the party and AK SPORTS – Girls On Heat is another unrelenting hard techno offering with sleazy vocals. Cadence gets emotive with some lush strobe lit synth sequences on Fazed Reality, Tommy Holohan’s Ooweeuuooweeuu brings tortured synths and futuristic trance techno, and BXTR – Don’t Judge My Stab is all about the kinetic percussion and vamped up rave stabs. Then Ban Notice lights things up with warped video game style synth energy and SZG brings a little hard techno bounce to Toma Toma while Krl Mx – I Made A Song For You is a hands in the air closer that flows over you in waves of euphoria.
This is a superb return to form for Ismus.
