Francesca Lombardo returns with second single ‘Rain’, set for release on the 14th January and taken from her forthcoming debut LP ‘Life of Leaf’. Once again, Francesca dexterously blends rich electronic frequencies with her classical inclinations. Equipped with soaring strings and driving bass notes, Francesca delivers a nuanced and uplifting composition that once again enables her vocal prowess to take centre stage, continuing to blur distinctions between live performance and club culture.
‘Rain’ follows on from the first single release, ‘Eye Ring’ which in addition to numerous remixes from artists hand selected by Francesca was supported by an open and vulnerable video. Shot in the elegant surroundings of Petersham House, the video seamlessly marries analogue practices with electronic futurism, eerily placing Francesca in solitude within the setting of the lavish estate.
Set out as a declaration of identity, both ‘Eye Ring’ and now ‘Rain’ convey formidable passion and a dreamy wistfulness, hinting at a true relationship album in ‘Life of Leaf’, one that is interchangeable in style, yet rooted in personality and life experiences.
