Detroit house pioneer Dwayne Jensen has passed away. News of DJ’s death spread through his friends’ messages on social media.
Jensen got his start as a jazz drummer and percussionist and came up on the Detroit scene in the ’80s through popular spot L’uomo before moving to London for two years. In 1994, he was back in his hometown and created Fathom Records, which released music by Norm Tally, Derrick Thompson, Malik Alston and more. His last record was 2017’s Regain Your Soul EP, released by is / was.
The cause of death is not known at this time.
