Edit Select (Tony Scott) is one of our all time techno producers so his new e.p with & Antonio Ruscito – ‘Visitors – Projection’ was a good excuse for us to catch a few words with him.
Tell us about your new album in collaboration with Antonio Ruscito ‘Visitors – Projections’. What can we expect?
The main aspect of my work with Antonio is to provide a modern take on the club side of music nothing to experimental,moving forward within the boundaries so to speak.
When did you meet Antonio Ruscito and how come you started collaborating in the studio?
I met Antonio online as I loved what he was doing and wanted to release his music.We started collaborating together as both of us have different qualities and we wanted to fuse them together and create something new !
What’s been the biggest inspiration for your music?
My biggest inspiration has been my son, since he’s been around I’ve looked at myself in a totally different way more from the inside out .
I’m more focused than ever before and I’m trying all the time to create music and play memorable gigs that will stand the test of time.
Has the Glasgow techno scene been influential for you?
To be very honest I’ve been more influenced by the European scene since day 1, Glasgow is catching up and I love the clubs here like the Sub Club and SWG3 .
What are your essential items when touring?
My essential items are wifi,adaptors,sleeping pills, swimming shorts and flip flops for hotel pools and steam rooms : necessary for squaring myself up after a heavy night !
What’s been your longest DJ set?
When I’ve played Berghain I played 4-5 hours other than that I’ve played in Tokyo for 4 hours.
Which track did you hear first today?
I played a track by Billie Martyn called Live she’s only 17 and a superstar in the making.
What’s the next city you’re playing at?
I’m playing this weekend in Paris @ Blocaus & Subspace @Dot in St Petersburg.
Can you tell us your guilty pleasure in music?
My guilty pleasure is Jazz I love it just playing in the background or in the car a very beautiful thing indeed ..
