The German capital introduced a new business curfew and other severe restrictions, in a bid to curb the explosion in daily infections.
Local restaurants, bars, stores and other businesses will have to close between 11 p.m. local time and 6 a.m., the Berlin Senate, the city’s governing body, reported.
During the curfew period, private gatherings of people will be limited to five for those living in separate households. Nighttime encounters in the parks will also be prohibited.
Outside of curfew hours, gatherings of up to 10 people will be allowed inside, up from 25 people.
