“As you know this year has been a huge personal one for me, I shifted my focus onto building a new studio, proposing to my girlfriend, and the arrival of my beautiful daughter, Azalea! These tracks are a sneak peak of what’s to come moving forward and finally, I’m back in the studio!!”
you have to admit that reading a post like that has to move something in your heart and intrigue your ear…well we decided not just to press play and listen to the new Whyt Noyz e.p but we needed to check out whats up with him
TS – Tell us about your new E.P on Elevate
Sure thing, it’s a two track ep with a banging remix. The lead track The Gods Clap is a big bass-driven techno melodic track that really changes sets up and always gets a great crowd reaction. The track name is another saying for Thunder.
Russian Doll is a more hypnotic repetitive banger with my vocals on it talking about “this room, in this study, in this house, in this town, in this…” Basically just gets bigger and bigger as the track gains momentum and then straight back into that hypnotic groove. Pretty bangin that the usual WN groove, and finally Spektre rounded out the EP with their industrial tub-thumping remix of The Gods Clap.
TS – What’s been the biggest inspiration for your music?
Funk and Soul music, the stuff I grew up on as a kid. Bands like The Commodores, James Brown, and Parliament. It’s was a mixture of this stuff and what naturally comes out, I guess.
TS- What are your essential items when touring?
My Diabeties injections and definitely my podcasts! There’s nothing like flying through the air at 500mph listening to Niel DeGrasse Tyson talk about the wonders of the universe or Graham Hancock talking about possible lost civilisations. I enjoy kicking back and listening to great minds talk when I travel.
TS – What’s been your longest DJ set?
It wasn’t too long, about 6 hours I played a party at Suma Beach in Istanbul last year following Rich. The crowd were totally into it and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Prior to Whyt Noyz I playing sets that were a lot longer at local parties around my hometown.
TS – Which track did you hear first today?
Recently I’ve been playing Kaytranada’s album – “99.9%” also the new Tribe Called Quest album – “We Got It From Here.. Thank You 4 Your Service”
I listen to a lot of hiphop especially in the morning when I’m having my bulletproof coffees, it sets my mind right to get into the studio and write stuff that isn’t necessarily Techno. This also helps me come up with ideas from a different part of my brain.
TS – What’s the next city you’re playing at?
I am playing in Fraga, Spain with Richie at the infamous Florida135 Club.
TS – Can you tell us your guilty pleasure in music?
Yeah totally, it’s this artist that I’ve only found this year and he is called FKJ (French Kiwi Juice) he makes unbelievably cool, funky tracks that strike a chord with me. He plays like 50 instruments too so maybe it’s because he is pretty inspirational to me too. Check him out!
TS- what are your plans for NYE ?
I am away djing at Der Hirsh at Nuremberg which I’m really excited about! After the gig I will take a red-eye flight to get back to the UK to see my girls!
