Who is Luca Dea –
the guy who posts videos from all the main festivals and clubs from behind the decks?
Is that his job? How does he manage to be in Berlin today and in Barcelona tomorrow? Why does he pose with Nina Kraviz in his photos?
These are the questions that naturally come in mind when you see his YouTube channel or Facebook page.
We got to ask him a few:
I’m 26 years old now, I live in Treviso, near Venice in Italy, and I fell for electronic music thanks to some friends that invited me to some parties when I was 17… Until then I preferred pop music and rap.
How did it all start – did you plan to become the techno blogger you are now, or it happened by accident?
It happened by accident, and very slowly. My passion grew from 17 to 21, and I didn’t try to be a techno blogger… Only at 21 I started to create a continuity on my youtube channel, recording for my page almost every weekend!
Which video of yours went viral first and what did you feel?
My 1st viral video was for sure the video from Cadenza pool party in Miami during WMC 2011.
It was only my second journey abroad for following parties. I was already thinking about doing something like a Facebook LIVE: the party was near my hotel, so I went back to the hotel twice to upload the videos and share them, and then I went back to the party to record others… So this video was uploaded like 1 hour later, and was shared a lot. I want to say thanks to Davide Avallone, an Italian promoter; he gave me the guest list for that party.
What was the first festival you were filming backstage? Describe the difference between being in the crowd and in the DJ booth.
I don’t remember exactly which festival it was, for sure some Italian festivals near my hometown. If you mean the 1st big festival or event, then it was Time Warp as an event and Cocorico as a disco.
I filmed there for the 1st time in DJ booth in 2012, when I was 22. I still remember the emotions I felt, so so amazing… dreams comes true… These are the 2 videos that can describe those emotions 🙂
The Cocorico video is also my most watched video, more than 700 K views!
I want to say thanks to my DJ friends Romano Alfieri and Luca Bear that invited me that night at Cocorico.
And I want to say thanks to Paco Osuna that give me the stage pass for Time Warp 2012
Do the festivals send you special invitations? You seem to get booked like the DJs that play there.
Yes, especially in the last 3 years. I’m very happy about that. Especially for people follow me, because I know what they want to see and I can share my emotions with them with my LIVE videos.
What are your plans this summer?
I’ve got a very busy summer, so stay tuned to my facebook page for following a lot of live videos!
Who is the sweetest DJ you ever met?
So difficult to say.
I can say first names in my mind that I have a good friendship with:
Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Marco Faraone, Matthias Tanzmann, Ilario Alicante, Leon, Nina Kraviz, Ame, Sam Paganini
They are such nice and good people!
