Everybody is talking about this new guy, who’s track has jumped up all charts in a second. This guy is Maurice Uzzan AKA Whitesquare.

Tell us about your journey to the place where you are now. You grew up in Italy, how did you get into the club culture?
I actually was born in Italy, but I grew up in Tel-Aviv.
growing up in a city like tel-aviv where the club culture was always a strong part of the city affected me a lot throughout my years there as a teen.
I remember going to clubs to listen to the world greatest dj’s when I was just a little kid around 15\16 years old.
Sasha , Digweed , Tenaglia… good times!
so basically iv’e been around clubs since I was a little kid.
I came back to Italy when I was 18. And here I started to get more serious about it; djing around, producing.. and so on.
What influenced you to become a Dj and producer?
Being around clubs since a teenager I was always fascinated by the dj, what was he doing?
how is he doing it? where does he gets this music?
three questions that I needed an answer as quickly as possible, and so I did!
Why did you decide to launch your own imprint – Lyase? Isn’t it easier to get into the big labels to get exposure, than to do everything yourself?
I decided to launch Lyase with my good friend and amazing producer NT89.
we use to send each other tracks and give feedbacks.
until we decided to open up our own label, and put our works that maybe are not too much for the club but more experimental in someway. and of course also to release people we follow and love their music!
Tell us about your latest release. Marco Carola took it to his decks and that’s a sign of quality. Do you know him from time? Was he one of the people who supported your start, or who was it?
I worked on that release this winter, the specific track “folded reality” I wasn’t 100% sure to release it, I waskinda going on a different direction with this EP.. slower and more melodic productions, but I got to trust 2020 A&R Bobby, who has got a golden ear and decided that the track HAS to be relaesed!
As for Marco Carola, do not know marco personally, I never even met him. I was so stoked when I saw that video of him closing his night at ibiza with my track!
What are your plans for your label? Any releases to look for in near future?
We are doing a V/A with some friends of ours, which includes:
A great friend and one of japan’s greatest Techno dj and producer – DJ Sodeyama.
Anthony Fade, a new project by former Light Year from Sidney.
Mintz, a breakthrough new duo from Tel Aviv.
And Jack Roland, american from Amsterdam, with a real cool an unique sound.
After that we will come back with my own release with remixes from DROOG and more…
