Dana Ruh is the one who keeps faithful to her mellow approach to deep and thick techno and house sound. Her Cocoon 20 years mix is another perfect example of how she knits the musical flow by compiling tracks like 1-2-3 making a story which leads you to the dancing mood without any pressure.
Not chasing any style frames, Dana Ruh has created her recognisable sound and it sometimes feels like the shivers and clicks of vinyl have been specially sent to the world do make her mixes cozy as they are.
She started collecting records 20 years ago, just to have the tracks that she liked at the clubs. She knew how to handle vinyl, because her mother had a huge record collection and when a guy from her favorite record shop showed her how to mix, she started doing it to lay her thoughts off the full time job. The rest is history, she says, and now we see her playing all over the world and producing music for Cocoon, Ostgut Ton, Underground Quality, Perspectiv and many others.
Her label Brouqade was founded in 2007 with a friend called Ann and in 2012 Anthea joined them for the journey. Dana does all the work from A&R to shipping and thus, she holds full control of her imprint, which is all about music and nothing else.
