Current COVID-19 pandemic has left the White Isle in crisis. This year a typical clubbing calendar looking increasingly unlikely. If the island’s superclubs and beach bars fail to open, it could cost up to 4,000 venue staff their jobs, as RA reports.
“In Ibiza, there are currently eight superclubs,” José Luis Benítez, head of the Ibiza leisure association, told the local Diario. “And in each of them work between 300 and 350 people, plus another 100 in less direct ways.”
“I don’t know if we’ll ever get back to normal,” Benítez continues. “I don’t know if we’ll recuperate the same levels of tourism we’ve come to expect.”
