UK born and Philadelphia-based DJ Scott Diaz, got his gigs cancelled after he was told to be “overweight” by the event promoter.

Promoters from Ibiza contacted Scott’s agent Kelly asking about fees and availability for an unnamed party at the white Isle. After replying, whoever contacted Scott said he was “overruled,” and told Kelly that they now felt Scott’s weight didn’t fit the “image or ethos” of the party.

If body-shaming is the reason for cancellation, that this is a real problem because the looks and physical appearance was never the crucial in a DJ. It’s skills and selection that matter, and so much more that DJ does to take you on a journey through the night…
